APPEARANCE Regardless of the species he has taken the appearance of, human or Vidyadhara, some things will always remain the same about Dan Heng. He is around 5'8" and slender, with dark hair constantly falling in his face. His features are delicate and somewhat androgynous, with fine brows, plausibly deniable eyeliner, thick lashes, plus an annoyingly perfectly moisturized(?) complexion, but a narrow mouth that is rarely used for smiling. He seems to be roughly 16 or 17—at the very least—and not done growing yet. His injuries heal without scars, and the spear fighter's calluses on his palms are always soft.
When masquerading as a human, Dan Heng's eyes are a dark sea-green, and do not catch the light in anything but the brightness of the afternoon sun. His black hair is fluffy, and cut short in that annoying "I just woke up and it looks like this" kind of way. There is a seemingly perpetual tiredness in his face, and he does nothing to hide the shadows under his eyes after a late night. Compared to undisguised appearance, his palette is cool and sort of underwhelming. Unless noted otherwise, he endeavors to remain human in appearance.
As a Vidyadhara, his true nature shines unimpeded. His most notable difference are the horns; they resemble antlers to the uninformed, and dragon horns to those familiar with mythology and folklore that resembles the Xianzhou Alliance's. They are are slightly translucent, with two prongs on each side, and long enough that he would have trouble hiding them under a hood or a hat. At the base, nearly hidden by his hair a faint, golden-rimmed scale pattern begins. He also has big stupid pointed ears, as do all Vidyadhara; they move slightly on their own, reacting to sounds. Without his human disguise, his eyes also glow? It's not like he has headlights up there, but more of a glowstick brightness situation. Both the irises and his pupils carry that uncanny glow. Sometimes, when he's doing big cloudhymn works or the High Elder Lizard Brainβ’ is driving, the light intensifies. His hair is considerably longer, in a pseudo-xianxia fantasy style but now its a mullet, and the way it catches light makes it often look more like a deep blue than black. Red marks also rim both of his eyes, in a manner similar to the dragon he summons in battle. They are permanent, and give even more weird girlboyfriend androgynous vibes. He's so gender.
CLOTHING HE'S GOT FREE CITIES CLOTHES NOW BUT I NEED TO DO A WRITE UP.Solvunn typical: low, soft-soled leather boots, with wool boot liner; short sleeved tunics (wool) layered over softer, long-sleeved undershirts (linen or cotton); wide legged trousers (wool) cinched up the shins for easier movement. All of the fabrics are lighter weaves, meant for late summer. He prefers cool and neutral palettes — cool greens and blues, whites and greys. Any embroidery is simple, repetitive patterns at the hems, with one "nice" tunic that the commune members gave him which has coiling sea serpents at the collar. In very cold weather, he wears a heavy cloak, pinned at the shoulder — short enough to stay out of the way if he needs to use his hands, but enough to keep his core warmer. Yes, it is the only blanket he owns. If earrings are available, he'll wear them without issue. Once he gets something like his space Jordans back, it's over for you bitches. Without anything better, and under the assumption he will not have a personal residence until he returns home, Dan Heng also usually carries the few personal possessions he has been granted on his person at all times. (Thank god, he is finally free of Mihoyo's bad asymmetrical design complex.)
DEMEANOUR reserved, cautious, easily mistaken as a having a cold personality. polite as necessary, awkward when conversations with strangers veer off scripts provided by that politeness. puts himself between others and danger willingly. reads anything he finds, even if it seems worthless. uncomfortable with positive attention, way too comfortable infodumping about things he's read and with a low tolerance for inaccurate information.
AURAL Example 1, Example 2, Example 3. Young, serious, and slightly awkward—like he's still practicing talking with people on a regular basis. He speaks with confidence when it's a topic he is learned on, or when things can be counted as "business" matters. When its about dealing with people, he is less certain. Only sometimes does he let his frustration voice itself, preferring action to fussing or arguing. He also chooses not to speak enough that others will comment on it. Addresses most people casually, but defers to titles or more formal address for certain people he respects. (Jing Yuan is "General," Bailu is "Miss Bailu," Welt is "Mr. Yang," — Himeko is "Himeko-san" in his JP dub, but she is a pretty casual person so in the EN dub he addresses her as just "Himeko," while March and Trailblazer are addressed by name.) Voice actor: Nicholas Leung.
OLFACTORY Fresh rain or saltwater. Whatever it is, it smells... clean?
MISCELLANEOUS NOTES & OBSERVATIONS
β» For those aware of it, he has a weirdly low heart rate for humans. It's probably fine.
β» Mildly ectothermic body temperature! He is warm when in warm places, and cool when in cool places, without apparent negative repercussions becauselizard water dragon. Similar to some sharks, he can maintain an internal temperature above the current environmental range, but it takes more effort than not, and he'll need to eat more or sleep more to maintain it. To most people, he will just seem like he has bad circulation.
β» If you saw fanart of Dan Heng with abs the artist lied to you. He is a fucking twink. This guy is a fucking bean pole ass noodle. Mihoyo has never made a beefcake in their entire existence. He looks like a stiff breeze or possibly a sword through the chest is all it takes to knock him over.
β» Despite that, he eats like any other teenage boy with a freak metabolism: a lot. Every time the put him in art for some fast food promotions he's always stuffing his face. March is there looking cute and he's just shoving a burger or a a whole piece of pizza or some fries in his mouth. And March even comments on it in game. His favorite snack is basically "water with calories." (It might actually be a freak dragon metabolism, because Bailu also eats more than her stature would suggest.)

β¦ Solvunn; Tertiary Settlement. The young Summoned with the dark hair must have Xeimer's blessing, because he has no qualms about swimming the freezing winter waters without a care. On days when the ice is too thick to go out in a boat, he often comes back to the market with his own haul of the ocean's bounty when no others do.

Patron of Untold Sins
A god only found in bodies of water under open sky and stars, known as "the young lord who drinks the moonlight." Not a god that involves himself with the affairs of the world much, Yinyue-jun is revered by the small number of those who seek to absolve themselves of their mistakes, or to forget their sins entirely. One must entreat his aid in good faith with genuine good (or at least remorseful) intent, otherwise his blessings will easily become afflictions, as his judgement is as changeable as the moon itself, and his icy countenance will give no sign of what is to come.
β¦ The Person β¦
Dan Heng has not forgotten who he once was, and who he is now; as a long life species, he was already condemned to watch the lives of those he cares about change in front of him. As they forget, he will bear the knowledge of their sins for them as the water washes away the past.
β¦ The Lore β¦
Depending on who you ask, he is either the son of Mythos (Guardian of the Pathless) and Metia (Herald of The Everwinter) born when their starlight reached moon-graced waters, or a dragon from the bottom of the sea that consumed the moon's light and learned the measure of sin.
β¦ The Look β¦
He doesn't change, but it is wearisome to keep hiding his true form.
β¦ The Domain β¦
His domain shrinks to become a walled garden with a pond full of blooming lotuses, the shadow of a great tree looming ever overhead. Gingko leaves fall and disintegrate into golden light before they can touch the water.
There is no sign of a train.
β¦ Fun Facts β¦
If you pat him on the head, you might get an extra blessing, to keep your mind sharp, your heart safe, and your soul brave on the road ahead (Protection from Evil and Good).
